Fuel Rail and Injectors

The fuel rails contain both pressure and temperature sensors that send control information to the electronic control module (ECM) allowing the distribution of:

• balanced pressure to all injectors, and
• precise amounts of fuel for each cylinder.

The fuel injectors meter the natural gas that enters each cylinder, based on electronic signals from the controller.

These signals manage the timing and duration of each injection event, which happen thousands of times per minute in each cylinder.
