Is the WiNG-Powered Ford F-250/F-350 EPA/CARB approved?

The WiNG Power System is EPA approved and can be purchased in 41 states. Westport LD is expecting CARB certification at the end of CY 2012 at which time, the system will then also be available in the 9 states (CA, CT, ME, MA, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT) that require CARB certification.

Can I tow a trailer?

Yes. Ford F-250/F-350 towing and hauling ratings are not reduced with the Westport WiNG Power System in place.

Is a fifth wheel hitch possible?

Yes, the Ford factory installed fifth wheel prep package is compatible with the Westport WiNG Power System. Aftermarket systems and trailer clearances must be checked for compatibility.

Can I do a bed delete?

A bed delete option will be offered on the F-250/F-350 in the near future.

Can I add a service body?

When bed deletes and chassis cabs are offered in the future, service bodies can be added. Please consult your distributor.

How well does the HVAC system work when the vehicle runs on CNG?

The HVAC system works exactly the same as it does on gasoline and has been fully tested to meet OEM specifications. Windshield defrosting time is unchanged vs. gasoline.

How frequently must I change the oil?

The oil on the vehicle should be changed according to Ford's recommended service intervals.

What is the warranty on my CNG vehicle?

The Ford vehicle and powertrain warranty remain intact after the WiNG Power System has been installed. Westport warrants the specific CNG equipment to the same levels as the Ford powertrain and emissions system levels.

Who warranties the CNG fuel system?

Westport. All warranty work will be performed at Westport authorized Ford dealers. If there are both Ford and Westport components which need replacement, the customer will not be involved in apportioning the costs—this will happen between Ford and Westport.
